About us
The B.T.L. Educational Trust for Rural Development is one of the premier educational organizations dedicated to the upliftment of rural and economically backward communities. Established in 1979, the Trust has been consistently working towards providing quality education and healthcare facilities to rural populations.
The visionary force behind the Trust is Late Prof. DR. B.T. Lakshman, whose commitment and guidance have been instrumental in shaping the Trust’s activities and growth.
BTL Pre-University College, established in 1981–82, is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and has been aided by the Government of Karnataka since 1989.
Aims and Objectives of the Trust
- To establish and manage educational institutions with the primary objective of providing education to rural students.
- To establish and manage technical institutions aimed at imparting occupation-oriented and skill-based education to rural youth.
- To build and manage rural health dispensaries for the benefit of underserved communities.
- To create endowments and provide financial assistance and scholarships to rural students for pursuing education.
- To assist and promote student exchange and cultural exchange programmes between India and the U.S.A.
